What is the pediatric age limit for coverage under ACA?
Answer
Dental benefits are limited to children under age 19 for ACA medical policies with embedded pediatric dental benefits. However, young adults up to age 26 may be covered under a parent’s group plan for medical benefits. Although dental plan benefits are not required to be offered to young adults up to age 26, some dental insurers have voluntarily adopted the 26-year-old extension and provide dental coverage under the parent’s group dental plan in order to maintain benefit consistency.
